Rev. Jim Shook Pastor Jim grew up nearby in Salisbury, Massachusetts, where he was baptized and confirmed at East Parish United Methodist Church. He is a graduate of Triton Regional High School in Byfield, Massachusetts and West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. In 1980 he received a Master of Divinity from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio Pastor Jim began his ministry in the former New Hampshire Annual Conference where he was ordained a Deacon in 1980 and an Elder in 1982. While in New Hampshire he served congregations in the White Mountains, before he and his wife Cal moved to Derry, where he served St. Luke’s UMC With the creation of the New England Conference in 1994, he was appointed to Washington County, Maine to serve the churches in Baileyville and Robbinston Ridge. In 2001, he moved to Western Massachusetts where is he first served the Monson and Glendale congregations. Upon the merger of those congregations, he was also appointed to New Hope UMC in Springfield. Pastor Jim was appointed to the York-Ogunquit Church in July 2007 Pastor Jim is a member of the Academy of Preaching of the General Board of Discipleship and has been listed in the “Who’s Who of United Methodist Communicators.”
