We didn't think it could get any better, but it has! The latest electric bill has arrived!  It was $24.35

We're saving money and the environment!

The solar panels have generated enough electricity so that 259KWH was sent back into the grid!

More Earth Friendly

July 2008.

A special thank you to Naoto Inoue of Solar Market for a generous donation and to Leon Turner, Russ Hume, Donn Taylor, and Pastor Jim for their time and energy.

Leon organized this event and ordered the insulation. The four of them cleared the attic of its storage.  Then dressed in moon suit like attire, Russ and Donn headed for the attic where they maneuvered a giant hose while Pastor Jim placed cotton batten looking substance into a machine.  The machine blew out insulation as Russ and Donn guided it into place.  After several hours of work, the attic floor has a one foot protective layer.

We are grateful for their contributions to a greener more earth friendly church.

New lighting in Sanctuary!

Old lighting fixtures in the sanctuary have been changed to new compact florescent units.  The 30 old units, installed when the church building was constructed in 1981, used 250 watts each.  That along with additional flood lighting required 8700 watts to light the sanctuary.  By converting to florescent lighting we have reduced our electrical needs in the sanctuary by approximately 70%.
