"THE MISSION OF THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IS TO MAKE DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST."

About Our Church

As a Christian congregation we are a part of the church universal; we share with the Church of centuries past, and with the Church in the present, the belief that Jesus is Lord.

As a United Methodist congregation we are a Protestant church whose streams of spiritual life and thought flow from the early Christian church to the present. We share the common historical and spiritual heritage of the Methodist Church, founded by the Rev. John Wesley; and the Evangelical United Brethren Church, founded by Philip Otterbein. United Methodists have been called the "most American" of the Christian churches.

The United Methodist Church of York-Ogunquit was formed in 1979 by the merger of the York United Methodist Church and the Ogunquit United Methodist Church. The building was erected in 1982.

The York-Ogunquit congregation has ministered to both York and Ogunquit, and the surrounding communities since 1830-through times of war, economic depression and social changes.

You are welcome to join us as we continue to minister to our neighbors here and abroad.
