Mission Statement for Wesley United Methodist Church

God's vision is that Wesley UMC is that beacon of God where His Word and His love flourish, and where faith in Him is accompanied by Christian action for others.

  • Where every member of the congregation cares for and affirms every other member,
  • Where there are spiritual growth opportunities to worship and study the Word of God seven days a week,
  • Where new ideas and new ways of doing things are encouraged and nurtured,
  • Where the poor, the hungry, the homeless, and the poor in Spirit, are encouraged to find food, shelter, and spiritual comfort from the ravages of the secular world,
  • Where missional outreach to the community, the nation, and the world thrives, and is supported by every member by their gifts, talents, or prayers,
  • Where each member is involved in a small group prayer or study fellowship that meets at least twice a month,
  • Where large fellowship groups of couples, singles, men, women, young adults, youth, senior citizens, and others, such as those seeking healing and recovery, meet regularly, and are vital extensions of the care, understanding and support found here,
  • Where worship on Sunday celebrates God's work happening every day of the week through its members,
  • Where the congregation maintains its focus on Jesus, and where there is always a vision of where He will lead them to do His work, for His glory, and not their own.
