All: We have gathered to renew, release, reconcile, and rejoice.

Leader: Renewing of mind, body, and spirit,
              Releasing the captive within us,
              Reconciling the alienated,
              Rejoicing in God's great mercy.

All:      The day of atonement has sounded.
           Let the Jubilee begin! (1)

Leader: Because of our belief in God our creator, Jesus the redeemer,
             and the Holy Spirit, the sanctifier,

All:      We affirm that all human beings, as spiritual beings in flesh
             receive from God the gift of their sexuality, that through it,
             they may express their love and grow in love for one another,
             achieving their sanctification in love.

Leader: We believe that gay and lesbian persons are members of Christ,
              numbered among the people of God,

All:      That all have an inherent dignity because God created us,
             Christ died and rose for us, and the Holy Spirit sanctified us.

Leader: We believe that gay and lesbian persons can express their sexuality
             physically in a unitive manner that is loving, life giving, life-affirming,
             redeeming, and sanctifying.

All:      Because of our belief in church as community, we commit
             ourselves to grow in faithfulness to God, and to one another,        
             and to the whole human family.
             We commit ourselves to living out this vision of the church. (2)
