Missions
The Missions Committee at Woodland Park UMC is dedicated to setting forth a vision for the whole church in missions to ameliorate, both locally and globally, the effects of:
Hunger
Homelessness
Poverty
Unjust discrimination
Unjust stewardship of our planet Earth
The committee meets monthly to keep updated on ongoing projects, initiate new ones, and respond to emergency situations in our community locally and abroad.
Communion Offerings
Each month the Missions Committee accepts special communion offerings designated to various charities.

Social Action Table
This year, the Missions Committee will initiate a Social Action Table during coffee hour. There, interested people may wish to sign petitions representing just causes, write letters to state and national representatives and senators, pick up new literature regarding political action or environment causes and sign up to participate in Mission Committee events.
Cooperative School of
Christian Mission
The Missions Committee assists church members in participating in the Cooperative School of Christian Mission. This school provides educational opportunities in mission, outreach, spiritual growth, social action, leadership development and program planning of projects of the United Methodist Women and the Board of Global Ministries. Next year, the Dean of the Cooperative School of Christian Mission will be our own Jean Yeager.
Supported Programs

Sunday breakfasts are provided each 4th Sunday of the month for our overnight guests. Members of our congregation prepare, serve and share the meals with the men.
Our church is committed to participating in the Interfaith Hospitality Network with other churches helping on a temporary basis to feed and shelter homeless families in our area.
