| The 2nd Annual HRC Seattle Dinner, held at the Elliot Grand Hyatt on Saturday, October 13, was attended by over 500 elegantly dressed supporters. The banquet opened with a video about the HRC's programs and honored some of the gay and Lesbian Americans who had contributed to our wonderful country. | |||||||||||||||||||||

Among them was Katharine Lee Bates, a Wesley College professor who lived for 25 years as "one soul together" with another woman, who wrote the lyrics to "American the Beautiful". | ||||||||||||||||||||
