Committees - Worship Commission
Services planned by the Worship Commission include services occurring on Sundays, and also other times such as Thanksgiving Eve or Christmas Eve (some services are planned ecumenically with other churches in the area).

The Commission supports others who help in worship services such as the ushers, communion stewards, liturgists, and the Choir. Currently the Commission is overseeing a Music Focus Group which is discussing how we might make music in the church better. We are considering new song books, exploring how to create more variety in special music (a contemporary singing group in addition to the regular choir) and how to involve more people in providing special music.

The Commission encourages the creation of special decorations in the sanctuary such as banners and altar cloths. These are made by members of the church from time to time. Hangings are changed during the year to enhance the changing church seasons.

The Commission helps plan special services and other events to add to the meaning of special times such as Easter and Christmas. During Holy Week before Easter, plans are made for Maundy Thursday and/or Good Friday, as well as a Prayer Vigil on that Saturday, in addition to special plans for Easter Sunday. For many years our Choir has presented special Cantatas for Easter and Christmas with one Sunday committed to each.

In the last 7-8 year we have promoted the publication of devotional booklets using writings by our members. These inspirational booklets are distributed for reading during either Lent or Advent
