Blessing of the Animals
A beautiful day marked the start of the annual Blessing of the Animals. While several of God's creatures were present, included both dogs and a cat; Mark's Tarantula, Zeus, missed this years blessing having passed away last year.

Mark began the service with a reading from the bible which included stories of Noah's arc, Jona and the whale, and our role as caretakers of God's creatures.
Those present (of the human type) sang "All Things Bright and Beautiful"

All things bright and beautiful
All creatures great and small
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all."
After offering a short prayer for those present, Mark blessed each of the animals, some of who decided to remain safely in their owner's arms.
Treats for the animals were served after the blessing. Especially popular were the doggy biscuits made by Anne Lewis. Anne was even willing to share her secret recipe.

Carter performed his duties as host creature by keeping watch on all the activities. Carter was especially good at greeting all the visitors....well, almost all. Kermie, Carol's cat, was kept off limits from Carter's canine fellowship.
