I am placing this article on our website instead of my regular monthly pastor’s page because we have suffered a loss that is beyond measure to our church family. Our beautiful church building was destroyed by fire on Sunday, May 31^st.

     Our hearts are broken, but not our spirits. Our beautiful building is gone, but the church lives! It lives in the hearts and minds of our congregation, and it lives in the ministries that will go on in spite of this horrible tragedy.

     Jesus has promised us that the very gates of hell shall not prevail against the church. Well, we’ve been through hell, and we are still here.

God wants us to remain in the Woodlawn community to love and to serve after the example of Christ, and we will be Christ’s agents of healing and of love for many, many, years to come.

    We are Christ’s Easter people, and we are about life and love, and nothing, absolutely nothing, can stop us from being faithful to God’s call upon our lives. By God’s grace we shall not only survive, we shall triumph!

     To any and all who look to this website, we ask for your prayers. I will keep you updated on the progress of our determined efforts to rebuild.
