Our History: Patton Methodist Episcopal Church

In and around 1891, the Patton family was platting land for development in what is now Inner North Portland.  As a part of the project, the family Patton M.E. Church donated land for two major projects:  The Patton Home for the Friendless (now the Patton Home, operated by Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon) and Patton M. E. Church.

A congregation was formed and a building erected on the site, which served the community for many years.  When Patton and Central merged in 1951 (forming Patton-Central Methodist Church), a new building was built adjacent to the Patton site and parking lot was placed on the site of the old Patton Church.
