ministry in Woodlawn!
Woodlawn Church has ministered in the
Woodlawn neighborhood of Portland for 118 years. It's a rich heritage
and we invite you to use this page to explore that history. (Click

Central M.E.
Church
was the first
congregation which makes up what is now Woodlawn Church.
Beech Street
Methodist Church
began as the Swedish M.E. Church in 1891.
In 1956 it merged with Woodlawn Church and the
new Woodlawn Church building was built at
the present
location.
Patton Church
began in the same year on land donated
by the Patton estate.
Woodlawn
M.E. Church
also began in 1891 as the first church
in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Portland.
Patton and Central Churches merged in 1958 to
form
Patton-Central Methodist Church.
In 1987, Patton-Central merged
with Woodlawn.
