Thanksgiving...
'the act of giving thanks'
by Karen Biederman
What a beautiful autumn we are having! Winter is now quickly approaching along with the holiday spirit. It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner with Christmas not too far away.
I have a lot to be thankful for besides family and try to thank God for even the smallest of things, as I know that what you take for granted one day might not be there the next. I hope your Thanksgiving is wonderful and is full of family.
We celebrate Remembrance Day (Armistice Day) on November 11th, the day WWI ended, on the 11th day, on the 11th month, on the 11th hour. Please take a few moments of your day to say a prayer for those who lost their lives for our freedom and also for those who are currently serving in the military and their families as well.
This is truly a difficult time for many families who have a member serving in the forces at this time who is unable to come home for the holiday to celebrate a familyThanksgiving. My prayers and gratitude go out to both of you at this time.
As we sit down to enjoy our Thanksgiving celebrations, take time to explain to our younger members what Thanksgiving is all about so that the sacrifices that are and have been borne by many to safeguard our freedom are never taken for granted.
