We are delighted to welcome Glenn and Elizabeth. Everyday, our pastor brings to us warmth, friendliness and a deeper commitment to caring for others and a closer relationship to God in a welcoming and inviting way.
Glenn will receive his Master of Divinity degree from Boston University School of Theology in May of 2006. He is a Certified Candidate for Ministry on the Ordination track for Elder in the United Methodist Church, New England Conference. Glenn became a licensed Local Pastor upon his appointment to the Wakefield/Lynnfield United Methodist Church. He served his Pastoral Field Education as the Student Pastoral Intern at the First United Methodist Church in Framingham under the Rev. Curtis Brown.
Glenn is a life long United Methodist, his father the late Rev. John W. Mortimer served in the Southern New England Annual Conference for 26 years. Glenn received his Bachelors of Music in orchestral performance, violin, in 1988 from the University of Bridgeport School of Music. After graduation he pursued a Master of Music in Education at Southern Connecticut State University. He attended the American Symphony Orchestra League Orchestral Management program, as well as the seminar program in Arts Administration from the Association of Performing Arts presenters. Glenn was the Director of Orchestral Operations for the Greater Bridgeport Symphony, a position he held for 9 years. He then took the position of General Manager/Ensembles Director for the School of Music at Yale University. Glenn has taught violin for the Creative Music and Arts School in Monroe, CT and Music for the Cheshire Public Schools and the Foundation for the Handicapped in Bridgeport, CT. Glenn also worked for 10 years as the staff musician for St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, Fairfield, CT. |
