Outreach at First Church
First Church of Winthrop understands that a critical part of its mission is outreach to the community, the nation and the world. Through the integrated system of the United Methodist Church, our congregation, in its offerings, regularly supports a variety of global service projects, disaster relief efforts and social justice programs. Locally, First Church donates regularly to the Winthrop Food Pantry, Toys for Tots, Habitat for Humanity, and other missions. Additionally, the Church facilities are made available on a regular basis to community groups, including the Girl Scouts, Alcoholics Anonymous, Kids Curtain Call, martial arts, dance, gymnastics, and special community events. While First Church provides a gathering space for our community, our members also recognize that volunteering and service are other ways that we care for one another in order to continue our mission for Christ. Is there a need in your community that the Church may be able to help address? Talk to one of our staff or leaders today...don't wait for "someone else" to handle it!
