INTRODUCTION:
The Real Beginning
1. Creation of the universe
2. The beginning of all we see and know.
Learning about our Creator.
I. GOD EXISTED BEFORE CREATION
- Common sense demands something or Someone eternal.
1. Must we ever ask “What was before that?”
2. No, God has always been there.
a. Some look back to eternal slime.
b. We look back to our Lord divine.
- God is eternal. (Deut. 33:27) (Isa. 43:10)
1. Look back forever and God is there. (Ps. 90:2)
2. Look ahead forever and God is there. (Rev. 22:5)
- This is why God can offer eternal life. (John 3:16; 5:24)
II. GOD IS SEPARATE FROM HIS CREATION
- The majestic beginning of the Bible.
1. Repudiates Atheism: God exists.
2. Repudiates Pantheism: God was before His creation and His creatures.
- All things are of His design and for His glory.
1. The heavens declare His glory. (Ps. 19:1)
2. Flowers demonstrate His care (Matt. 6:28-30)
3. The seas own Him as Master (Mark 4:39)
- Creation causes all people to be without excuse.
1. It preaches everywhere. (Ps. 19:3)
2. It speaks of His eternal power and Godhead. (Rom. 1:20)
3. We are all accountable to our great Creator.
III. GOD’S PLAN FOR HIS CREATION
- He did not leave creation in chaos (without form and void.)
- The Holy Spirit at work to bring order and usefulness.
1. He does this in our lives.
2. Faith in Christ brings the new birth. (John 3:3-5)
3. New life replaces the old. (2 Cor. 5:17)
- Light instead of darkness.
1. “Let there be light”
2. Our Lord is the light of the World. (John 8:12)
3. God’s Word is a light for our path. (Ps. 119:105)
4. God brings light to our lives. (Ps. 27:1)
CONCLUSION:
Eternal life comes from an Eternal God.
1. Escaping the restrictions of time.
2. Here our days are numbered (Ps. 90:10)
3. Wise ones prepare for eternity (Ps. 90:12)
Receive Christ by Faith to prepare for eternity.
1. Nothing can separate us from His love. (Rom. 8:38-39)
2. Trusting Jesus guarantees eternal life (I John 5:13)
