INTRODUCTION:

 

              I.      THE POWER OF THE TOMB

A.     Garden of Eden – Genesis

B.     Romans 5:12

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

 

           II.      THE POWER AT THE TOMB

A.   The Civil power – The seal

B.   The Religious Power – The temple guards that watch

C.   The Military Power – The Roman guards

D.   The Devil – He had the power of death

 

All these four powers combine to try to keep Jesus in the tomb.

Imagine trying to bind the Creator

 

        III.      THE POWER IN THE TOMB

A.   The Son of God  “Death could not keep its prey”

B.   Acts 2:24

Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

 

C.   Romans 1:4

And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

 

D.   Eph. 1:19, 20

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,   Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

 

       IV.      THE POWER OVER THE TOMB
