Winfield United Methodist Women have an ongoing project for knitting or crocheting sweaters that will clothe children all over the world. The sweaters are to be knitted or crocheted from one pattern and can be made in all different sizes and colors. It's a great way to use up left over yarn from larger projects. Guidepost Sweater Project is known as "Gifts of Love" for cold and starving children all over the world. Sweaters are sent to just about every country around the globe including several places here in the United States. UMW sent 10 sweaters last year, and we are hoping to top that number this year.
This is a very simple pattern, and Fran Miller has personally knitted close to 100 over the last ten years. Fran has patterns for both, knit or crochet, and will be happy to send them to anyone who is interested.
