A Short History

Our monthly Country Breakfast was started in 1987 by our then Pastor Bill Rousseau and church members Barbara and Bob Golden and Jeff Harkness serving only pancakes and sausage. The breakfast had a small attendance of primarily church members until a new member, Dick Fine, in the early 1990's, suggested we add eggs and blueberry pancakes to the menu. After meeting some resistance by the chief pancake flipper, Jeff Harkness, eggs, blueberry pancakes and french toast where added to the menu and the rest was history. Attendance sky rocketed to a point where our waitresses/waiters had to start using order pads to keep track of the orders. Dick then suggested a Christmas cookie sale for the December Breakfast and it has been a great success ever since. The church woman also have bake sales several times a year. The breakfast is staffed by church members and it's friends in the the community.

All in all the country breakfast has been an excellent fund raiser for the church but more importantly it has been a great opportunity for the church to serve our community.
