Mark your calendars for Oct 9th--12th to remind yourselves of Walk #1461. God
has put together an outstanding team of women and men and is ready to use these
faithful followers in a mighty way. We had our first team meeting on July 12th.
Thank you Rev. Bill Duke and FUMC in Beeville for your hospitality! We started
our meeting with a hearty breakfast served by a Beeville reunion group and it
was followed by a scrumptious lunch served by another Beeville reunion group.
Thanks for feeding our physical bodies while we prepare for this spiritual
journey. We were lifted up by our peppy music team and heard insightful words
from our Spiritual Director, Chuck Miller on the fruits of the spirit. Chuck
reminded us that we are to display these fruits not only during our everyday
life but especially during Walk #1461. Our team bonded right away through
fellowship and heart filled prayer time.
We enjoyed previewing four great talks. The speakers were Casey Daily, Bill
Duke, LeAnne Gisler and Ken Houston. All of them did a terrific job in preparing
talks that will touch the pilgrims in a special way. Our outside team gathered
together to discuss their role on this walk. They are excited about being the
hands and feet of Christ as they serve with an attitude of agape love.
My heart is overflowing with thanksgiving to God for providing such a wonderful
team and community to be a part of. There are so many generous givers and
workers in our community. We are truly blessed. It amazes me how many times
people have told me that they are praying for our walk to be successful. Prayers
are being heard and answered. At this writing we have 8 confirmed pilgrims with
many more in the works. If God has spoken to you about sponsoring someone on
this walk don't hesitate to heed His call. Your pilgrim will be in goods hands,
HIS hands with our help.
