Southeast Asia Earthquake Relief

Somewhat lost in the US news is the magnitude of the devastation from the earthquake that struck Pakistan and India in early October.  About 80,000 people died in Pakistan and thousands more in India.  Now 2.5 million people are homeless as winter snow approaches.  There is desperate need for basic supplies such as tents and blankets.

How can we help?

There are many ways to help, but here are two simple ones:

·        Put a monetary contribution in the offering plate.  Make check payable to WUMC and put “SE Asia Earthquake” in the memo field.  Through UMCOR, 100% of your donation will go to the affected area.

·        Make an online donation through World Vision (the organization behind the 30 hour famine).  Visit http://www.worldvision.org
