The committee for the Wilmington District Lay Speakers Academy has met and we have decided not to have any classes this fall, 2009. We did decide to offer a great set of classes for the spring of 2010. All the classes will begin in April and finish in May. You will be receiving information on all that is offered in a letter which will include a description of each course and the application form that you need to fill out and send in along with your payment for the class. The fees have not changed and are listed with the course information.

Lay Speakers courses will again be offered at three locations and on three days in the spring. Christ United Methodist Church at 6 N. Clifton Drive, Elsmere, DE will host the Monday evening classes beginning April 12th, 2010 at 7:00 P.M., Elkton United Methodist Church at 219 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD is hosting the Thursday evening courses beginning on April 15th, 2010 at 7:00 P.M., and Union United Methodist Church on School Bell Road, Bear, DE will be hosting our Saturday morning classes beginning on April 17th, 2010 at 9:00 A.M.
Elkton Presbyterian Church, which is adjacent to Elkton U.M.C., has graciously said their parking lot is available to use during construction at Elkton U.M.C.

If you are not a Lay Speaker in your church, but are interested in taking one of the courses offered, all are welcome to sign up for a class. A copy of the courses offered and an application form are available below, or from your church office or your Pastor. If you are not a member of the Methodist Church but are interested in taking any of the courses offered you are also welcome to come and join our classes.
