Your Wedding
So you’re getting married - congratulations! We at Williamsburg United Methodist Church hope that these pages will help you in planning your wedding at this church.
We in the Church understand a wedding as an act of worship, and are eager to work with you to make sure that your wedding reflects praise and thanksgiving to God, to whom everything that is done in this place is dedicated.
This church offers you not only a place to have a wedding, but also the services of clergy who are professionals in counseling, and in planning and carrying out ceremonies. We urge you to take advantage of their expertise. In fact, one of the best things you can do in preparation for your wedding is to worship here where your wedding will take place, and meet and see our clergy in action. One of the best things you can do in preparation for your marriage is to find a church, and to become a regular part of a worshiping community.
Before your wedding is scheduled, you will need to contact on of our clergy in order to set up an initial consultation. It is the policy of our church that at least one United Methodist clergy participate in all weddings. If you wish to have a clergy participate in your ceremony other than the clergy of this church, you must have the clergy's name and church appointment when scheduling the wedding. Additionally, clergy must be licensed to conduct a religious wedding ceremony by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Welcome to Williamsburg United Methodist Church, and may God bless you as you plan your marriage.
