2005 McAlester District Youth Camp

Sunday, July 3, 2005:

The past week 10 of our youth attended district camp at Camp Egan in Talequah. We rode up and back in our newly acquired church bus. Barry and Mandy were leaders for the week so they went on Sunday. The group participated in various activities throughout the week, not to mention pranks. The activities included Camp Olympics, Water Wars, Midnight Swim, Talent Show and Movie Night. The camp also proved to be an opportunity to grow spiritually, and I believe a lot of us took that opportunity. The theme for the week was the life and times of Jesus Christ. We covered everything from his birth to the resurrection. I speak for all of us when I say that this was a truly amazing experience. This year I was elected as your District Youth President for a third term. The district officers will soon get together and start planning rallies and things of that sort. We would like to thank everyone that made this camp experience possible. We would also like to thank Sean, Aaron and Matt for being our drivers for the week. I am also happy to report that Barry and Mandy made it back in one piece.
