Dear Pastor Kidd,
Hello, I praise God everytime I think of you because of how the Lord made our paths cross on April 27,1997. I know now that the hand of God was moving upon us, I know the Holy Spirit brought you there to minister to me . I truly enjoyed our conversation, especially about church revival, Gods power and miraculous healings.
I was surprised at myself for mentioning my heart condition to you since I don't like to draw attention to myself in that way . I had suffered a massive heart attack on March 28 ,1992 and had to be cardio-verted (the paddles) three times that night. After that, I seemed to have one problem after another, including many smaller heart attacks, arrhythmia, blood clotting problems, high bloodpressure, cardiomyopathy(enlarged heart) just to name a few . My cardiologist informed my wife and me that it was only a matter of time, there was no hope for recovery . I received a cardio-pacer defibrillator unit implant to zap me when I needed it but they said it would only give me a little more time . I had become so weak I wasn't able to do much but go to church on Sunday mornings (sometimes not even that) .
You surprised me when you asked to pray for me saying you could feel the Spirit moving you . I gladly accepted your prayer for healing and was amazed at its beauty . Your love, faith, and confidence were really evident and I was really moved, especially when you prayed that the demons of doubt leave and never return. After the prayer I was a little startled that you said so matter-of-factly to me to go see my doctor . I hadn't felt any "healing heat" or special move of God out of the ordinary.
I remember that after the service I turned to you, wished you well and mentioned that I know someday God will heal me. You looked at me puzzled and simply said, " How do you know you aren't healed?, you need to see your doctor". I said I didn't feel any special power of God come upon me other than the presence of the Holy Spirit during church . You really got me thinking when you said that a person is not healed by what you feel, but by faith . I couldn't get those words out of my mind even though I'm sure I have heard them before .
Now for the really exciting part. On the way home I mentioned to my wife that I didn't seem to notice the fullness in my chest and that my energy level seemed to be way up . We even went out to eat on the way home and I was amazed at how good I felt . That's when I started to realize that God Had indeed worked a miracle in me . I began praising Jesus and standing on faith which I realize now is truly the key to His blessings.
As it turned out ( God knew what He was doing ), that Tuesday I had a doctor's visit scheduled. She was speechless for quite some time, first at me telling her that God had healed me and then by examining me.She listened to my heart for a long time smiling ear to ear. When she stopped she took her stethoscope out of her ears and put her hands into the air and said "Praise God"... "you're healed"! She could see and hear it but her scientific mind kept saying this is impossible . However, she did believe it Because before I left she said I needed to wean myself off the medications 2 at a time so it didn't throw my body into shock. The first to go was a blood pressure pill and a cholesterol medication. My blood pressure has been normal 120/80 . My heart rate has been perfect and my wife says my mind is sharper than its been in 5 years Praise God! I've started exercising slowly to rebuild my muscles and have a wheel chair for sale .
I want you to know that God gave me 2 miracles that Sunday. First, he healed my body, but probably the most important was the second.He taught me what FAITH really means and how to live in it . I use to believe that I had faith, but now I know that faith is something real that you can almost touch . It is more than just your belief, but a positive sense of knowing that Jesus is real and does move in our lives . It doesn't take a great quantity of faith, but a realization that what you believe will happen through Christ -- NO doubt about it! Faith comes from God and He gives us exactly what we need, we only need to use it with all of our heart .
Once again I thank God for His perfect ways and putting you into my life to intercede for me . My family and I will always have a special place in our hearts for you and will always keep you in our prayers . And I know that God will use you in many more ways for His glory, Thank you for allowing God to work through you . I hope that we can meet again soon and I would like some day to worship our Lord in your Church .
