Effective January 1, 2003, Wheadon United Methodist Church of Evanston will merge with the United Church of Rogers Park in Chicago. Throughout their histories, both congregations have demonstrated a strong cmmitment to peace, social justice, service to those in need, and shared desire to open the church to full participation for all, inlcuding gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons. The congregations are confident that the merger will result in a vibrant worship community, effective ministry in Rogers Park, and faithful witness to the larger church and global community.

On December 8, 2002, join us for the signing of the Merger Covenant between Wheadon and United Church of Rogers Park during the 11:00 AM worship service at
United Church of Rogers Park,
1545 W. Morse in Chicago
Bishop C. Joseph Sprague will bless the merger
and present the sermon at this service.
At 7:00 PM on Christmas Eve join us for a
Candelight Communion Serivce at United Church of Rogers Park
Beginning December 29, 2002, join us each Sunday morning.at 11:00 AM at United Church of Rogers Park, 1545 W. Morse in Chicago.
