The function of the Church council is two-fold. As the basic program planning group of the congregation it meets to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate goals and program proposals for the church's mission. As the basic administrative body of the church it meets to direct the organization of the local church, to receive and adopt dudget proposals, and to set policy and goals in keeping with the Charge Conference and the United Methodist Discipline. It is composed of the chairs of work areas and members at large.
Members at large are members of the congregation who hold no particular office; who are elected to serve as full members of the Church Council, providing added perspective in decision making and carrying out the program of the church.
The Pastor-Parish Relations Commitee is an advisory committee to the Bishop and District Superintendent in the appointment of a pastor. It is the sounding board for church staff and counsels with the pastor for the purpose of support and effective ministry. It reviews salaries and benefits of the pastor and the church staff and makes recoomendations to the Church Council.
The Board Of Trustees is responsible for the physical properties and the investments of the church. They are accountable to the Church Council.
Nuturing Ministries of the church give attention to the planning and implementation of programs related to the spiritual development of persons through Christion education and spiritual formation opportunities.
Outreach / Witness Ministries of the church give attention to the planning and implementation of ministries of compassion and advocacy to our local and larger community, including global concerns. It shall also attend to evangelistic outreach to persons, personal Christian witness and service, including a program of regular visitation to visitors and the assimilation of new members into the life of the congregation.
The Finance and Stewardship Committee establishes the budget for the calendar year and helps the congregation raise the needed funds. It shall make provision for an annual audit.
The Coordinating Council of the church shall give attention to the planning, implementation, and coordination of cooperative ministries of the West Granby/Copper Hill Charge.
The Nominating Committee is responsible for the nominations, empowerment, and support of volunteers who serve the church.
