West End United Methodist Women

The West End United Methodist Women (WEUMW) meet on the first Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. There is an average attendance of 20, and a variety of programs. Speakers have included guests from the Hispanic ministries, Robeson County Community Center and Sandhills Coalition. Our pastor, Rev. F. Bruce Allen explained his role as a chaplain at First Health, Moore Regional Hospital. WEUMW has participated in the district mission studies and hosted a mission study.

Through their spring salad supper, fall smorgasbord and pledges, WEUMW increased their pledge this year to missions by 5% and continue to make quarterly contributions to the local food bank. They made monetary contributions to Robeson Community Center and to the MATCH program

This year WEUMW provided 75 school kits for each of two schools in Moore County and will actively participate in the Hand to Hand program with West End Elementary School. They contributed ten health kits for Sanford district distribution and continue to provide care packages for one of the church members serving in the armed forces. Prayer partners are rotated on a monthly basis and there is a secret sister program.

The WEUMW has been called upon to provide after funeral luncheons for the families and friends. Several members volunteer on a weekly basis at Sandhills Coalition and Moore Regional Hospital.
