Children & Youth Sunday School

School has started and everyone is settled into their new grades with new teachers and new friends. Sunday School has made some changes also as it settles into our new year.

Children and youth begin their Sunday school time in the Sanctuary with their families for the first fifteen minutes of worship. After a brief Children’s message, children and youth are invited to their classes arranged in the following format:

We have a new format with Carole and Joe Kerr telling the weekly Bible stories accompanied by visual illustrations while Justin Kear, Jody Hartley, and Christine Bolton teach the lessons that goes with the weekly story.

Our curriculum is Jump, Grow, Proclaim and is the One Room Sunday School Curriculum. In October we will be studying the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt.   We have a combined class that provides an interactive teaching format along with age appropriate activities that engage all learners from age 4 to 4th grade.

Our good news is that Debbie Armstrong is leading a class for middle school and high schoolers.  They are using the same topics as the Preschool and Elementary Sunday School, but are looking at the stories and issues that the stories bring to us from a young adult perspective.

Nursery Care - Pre-K's

Diane Olsen continues to provide nursery care for our youngsters up to age 4. The nursery is available for the entirety of the service while the other classes leave the worship service after Children’s Moment for their Sunday Schools.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
