Making Jesus Christ Known in the World Many villages in Nicaragua such as Las Cruces lose 20~30% of children between the ages of 1 ~4 years old due to illness, most of which is caused by lack of clean water and sanitation.   Through the WUMC Missions budget, thanks to your generosity, we supported a water project last year and another one this year.  In Las Cruces, the well serves 2,000 people in the community. It is 60 feet deep, and dug by hand with an ox or mule pulling up the individual buckets of dirt.   The project is supplemented with training programs on hygiene and disease prevention, as well as continued follow-up by the Amanacer Mobile Health Clinic which is also supported by WUMC.   By reaching out and serving others, we are indeed continuing Christ's earthly mission.
