Sandra's Lodge - We visit  Sandra’s Lodge the first Sunday of every month.  We’ll meet at the church at 5:30pm and serve until 7pm.  Thanks again to everyone who has been donating toys and books.  It’s good to see that we have the materials and the energy to sustain a monthly ministry like this.  People now look for us on our regular night. All are welcome.

Sandra's Lodge

Sandra's Lodge is an emergency intake family shelter for homeless single mothers and their children. The shelter opened in January of 1999 and is named in memory of a woman who was a former employee of M.H.S.A. and who dedicated much of her short life to helping others. Sandra was a strong advocate for addressing the needs of the homeless, the elderly and the helpless. The program is funded by the Department of Transitional Assistance and provides a safe environment with ancillary services to thirty-five homeless families. The essential goals of the program are to secure permanent, affordable housing for its residents and offer the appropriate support services which will enable the family to function independently.

Praise be to God for an awesome winter youth retreat! February 13-15, nineteen people headed up to Wanakee UM Center for a retreat focusing on friendship as an act of faith.  Seven were from Weston UMC and the rest came from First UMC and Wesley UMC in Framingham.  We had a great time sledding, playing Twister, cooking for each other, walking under the stars, sitting by the wood stove and praying together.  It was surprising to see how fast God could take a group of strangers and turn us all into friends.  Our deepest prayer at the end of the weekend was to stay in touch with each other.  Thank you to all the parents who wrote such loving and moving letters of encouragement to their sons and daughters.  Sharing those letters with them at the concluding worship time was another very meaningful moment during the weekend.

Stay tuned for more information about our upcoming mission trip
