The word "confirmation" means "with firmness".

To the youth at WUMC, it means a continuation of their life-long faith journey.

All students in the 6th grade and older are eligible for this 9-week class to help your person respond to God's call toward Christian discipleship.

Confirmation classes will begin on Sunday March 2.  Classes will be held each Sunday morning beginning at 9 am and ending in time for worship at 10:30 am.  Confirmation Sunday will be June 8.

Confirmation classes will include an overview of the Christian faith, scripture, history and heritage, practices, beliefs and commitments as United Methodist congregations.  The course will include several "field trips" over the 9 weeks, with dates and times to be worked out so that as many students as possible can attend.  There will be some guest speakers visiting the classes.  Our youth will experience a variety of worship styles (even with United Methodist congregations) to increase their knowledge of ways to honor God as well as to gain an appreciation for the similarities as well as the differences among God's people and the various worship traditions.

Materials are available for parents of confirmands to answer four questions:

Will our children have faith?

What is confirmation?

What can we do at home?

What if the answer is "No"?
