God's Call: Individual Volunteers In Mission
Dear Friends: It is a pleasure to greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are writing to share with you that our book, Following God's Call: Individual Volunteers In Mission, has been published by Abingdon Press and is now available. We have already arranged for UMVIM, SEJ to have copies of our book for sale, and would like to offer each of you the same opportunity. We are also asking the Mission Volunteers office to send an email to the Annual Conference UMVIM Coordinators with the same offer. During our four years as Director and Associate Director of UMVIM, SEJ, and five and a half years as Consultants for Individual Volunteers with the Mission Volunteers office, we kept copies of the emails and letters that individual volunteers wrote during those years, 1995-2006. We selected excerpts from those writings in order to share their stories in our book. The book is available at Cokesbury Book Store and online at www.cokesbury.com. However, we also have about 800 copies of the book and would be happy to send copies to you on consignment if you would like to sell them at your jurisdictional events. Our price is $12.00 per book sold and we pay for shipping the books to you, with the understanding that you are responsible for paying the cost of shipping any unsold books returned to us. You may want to sell the books at the Cokesbury Book Store price of $15.00 so that your organization makes $3.00 per book profit.
