By contributing to Advance #901463-3 you will be supporting the United Methodist Volunteers In Mission Western Jurisdiction office which provides guidance, training, education, cultivation and placement for short-term mission volunteers in the western jurisdiction through the 8 conferences (Alaska Missionary, California-Nevada, California-Pacific, Desert Southwest, Oregon-Idaho, Pacific Northwest, Rocky Mountain, Yellowstone)

You can send your contributions through your local church treasurer, or directly to the jurisdictional office, or to the national office in NYC (General Board of Global Ministries , Mission Volunteers, 475 Riverside Drive, NYC, NY 10115) ** Please be sure your check is clearly marked "Advance #901463-3 UMVIM WJ".

Fellowship of 1000

For $100 per year you can be one of only 1000 persons in the Western Jurisdiction to be in a covenant relationship with UMVIM Western Jurisdiction.

Advance and UMCOR

Many UMVIM teams go to areas that have mission projects which are supported by our current system of the Advance and UMCOR.  Here are some steps you can take:

· Please look in your church office for the Partnership in Mission catalog (otherwise known as "the Advance book"). You'll find over 2000 mission projects that the UMC is involved with world-wide.

· Locate one near where your mission team is going.

· Visit that project if time permits.

· Share your stories when you return.

· Promote the Advance number for support of that project in your local church and district newsletters.
