Youth Military Cadets

Regular Meeting Saturday 9:00am until Noon at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 288 East Little Creek Road, Norfolk.

We accept young persons ages 8 to 18 (male and female) as candidates for the Youth Military Cadets.

    • THE MISSION: Promotes the physical, moral and mental development of the members.


  • Instill in the members, the ideals of honesty, fairness, courage, respect, loyalty, dependability, attention to duty, love of God and fidelity to our country and its institutions.

  • Stimulate an interest for academic achievement and the history and traditions of the United States of America.

  • Promote physical fitness through the conduct of physical activities, including participation in athletic events and close order drill.

  • Advocate a healthy, drug free life-style through continual drug prevention education.


    • YOUTH MILITARY CADETS OBLIGATION:

    From this day forward, I sincerely promise I will set an example for all other youth to follow, and I shall never do anything that would bring disgrace or dishonor upon my God, my country or its flag, myself or the Youth Military Cadets. These I will honor and respect in a manner that will reflect credit upon them and myself.
