Ministry Moments - Who can participate in Ministry Moments? You

When is Ministry Moments? It is the time right after the announcements just before our call to worship.

Why do we do it? It testifies to us how God is working through normal people and how God is changing our lives. It is important for us to see lives changed inside and outside our congregation through normal people like us.

How do you know you are called to speak?
Pastor asks you
You feel God leading you to share
You have had a change in thinking of how God can work
You have an idea for a new ministry. You feel God has placed this on your heart.
You want to share about an upcoming event in the life of our church

Children's Sermon  - tips

Welcome the children to the front

Sit at their level
On the steps with you able to make eye contact with them
or have them sit on the pew with you in a chair talking to them

Engage them with an object, or story that is meaningful to them, even a series about something (like plants, imaginary friend, etc.) or  a short drama like an interview with a bible character.

Short and to the point - attention spans are 1 minute per age of child

Remember it is for the children, not the adults. Children are very literal, and do not understand symbolism.

Always dismiss with a prayer, you can ask the pastor to lead if you want. The prayer also has a purpose
Teach them that prayer is like talking to God
Short phrases that they repeat after you.
