Crop Walk Results for 2008

January 7, 2009

Dear Friends,

Despite a little rain at the beginning, this year’s CROP Hunger Walk was the most successful so far. We had 200 participants who raised $13,318 for Church World Services, with $3,329.50 remaining in our area to fight hunger. 17 churches or groups took part, continuing to make this a truly inter-denominational effort.

Thank you very much to the walkers who went out and found the sponsors who donated the money. Many thanks go to the sponsors of our walkers. We are very grateful for their generous support of this community project. Also, thanks to the folks who sponsored our t-shirts. I think they were a great addition.

If you are happy you took part in the 2008 CROP Hunger Walk, mark your calendar for October 4, 2009. The 4th Dover CROP Hunger Walk will take place at 2 PM on that date. Also, please note that a regional CROP Walk forum will be held at Wesley UMC on March 28, 2009. I encourage anyone who is interested in making our CROP Walk even better to attend this forum. More details will follow about this exciting event!

Please save the date if you enjoyed the experience last year because we definitely would like to have you ( and some friends) back for 2009!

If you can believe it, some help in organizing this year’s Walk would be appreciated. If you feel the call to help in ANY way, please contact me.
