About The "Holy Experment" at Wesley

Every United Methodist Church is called to inclusiveness (The Book of Discipline, Par 117)
"We recognize that God made all creation and saw that it was good. As a diverse
people of God who bring special gifts and evidences of God's grace to the unity of
the Church and to society. Inclusiveness means openness, acceptance and support that
enables all persons to participate in the life of the Church, the community, and the
World."

The Pastors will work together with the laity of Wesley Church to fullfill their
Christian mandate, "To bring together people with different ethnicity, culture, and
language." Medford is composed of all forms of families, older persons, established immigrants,
recent immigrants, white collar urbanites and ethnically mixed urban singles. This diversity
makes Wesley Church an ideal setting for this "Holy Experiment."
Dr. Bryan Stone, Director of Boston University School of Theology's Center for Congregational
Research and Development, and Bonnie Marden, the consultant for the New England Conference
will be working with Wesley Church and the Pastoral Leadership to facilitate the process
and results. This is an exciting time for the people of Wesley and gives us an opportunity to
make a difference in the lives of people in the Church and community.

In keeping with our Mission as an Urban Ministry Church we invite EVERYONE to

COME, SHARE, AND REJOICE!!!
