We all need to be obedient to the Lord; and we all need to be learning and growing in our Spiritual lives. Some ways to work toward these goals are to read Scripture and apply it to our lives; also take part in classes, small group studies, Bible studies, prayer groups, and the like.

We are all ministers---all who are Christians. We all serve the Lord Jesus Christ and everyone is spiritually equipped for some kind of service to God.

The Holy Spirit displays God's power through each of us as a means of helping the entire Church.

LAY EMPOWERMENT TEAM

The Lay Empowerment Team is made up of clergy and laity of the district, who gather on a regular basis to pray for and facilitate the ministry of the Laity in the District. Attention is given to the cultivation and resourcing of church Lay Leaders in the District. The District Lay Leader chairs the Lay Empowerment Team. The Associate District Lay Leader, Dean of the Lay Speaker's School and the Dean of Leadership University along with the District Superintendent are members of the Team. Other members of the Team are elected for three-year terms. The members of the Lay Empowerment Team are members of the District Program Team. The Program Team gathers to vision and strategize for ministry in the District.
