How our church has been involved in Mission:

Community: The missions committee carries out a church wide educational program through the use of Moments for Ministry, bulletin inserts, brochures and a bulletin board devoted to missions. Located at the center of the borough, the county and the District our church continues to serve the community. We have been given a place to be in ministry that is special and sometimes somewhat unique. We are the home of boy and girl scout troops, Wellsboro Food Pantry supported by Souper Sunday and Christmas in July, the Children's Center and SHARE program. For the community we have a free Thanksgiving dinner, the Angel Tree for gifts to those with very little or nothing for Christmas, Girl Scout training sessions, the World Aids Day Service and a Cancer support group.

Conference: Groups within the church are working to support several different mission projects. Often the whole church helps with monetary gifts. Scholarships are given for School of Christian Missions. Missions supported are: Endless Mountains Mission Center, United Christian Ministries, Good Samaritan Fund, Mercy Kasambira Memorial Scholarship Fund and Northern Tier Children's Home. Also supported are the United Methodist Children's Home, Neighborhood Center Auxiliary, and special offerings such as Golden Cross/Benevolent Homes. All six special Sunday offerings are observed using moments for ministry, bulletin inserts, and posters along with offering envelopes.

In the United States: The UMC of Wellsboro supports Red Bird Missionary Conference for Peace Ministry for children and Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference for Native American Children's Fund.

In support of Advance projects and global arenas: Offerings are received from the congregation for UMCOR disaster response. One Great Hour of Sharing is one of the biggest collection of funds along with Blanket Sunday for Church World Service. Members of the UMC of Wellsboro support Africa University and Ludhiana Christian Medical College. Large numbers participate in the CROP Walk. After a tour of the New Windsor CWS facility, the congregation became aware of the need for Gifts of the Heart kits. Over 95 Gifts were assembled and taken to the New Windsor Depot. Our youth participate in a 30-hour famine and give proceeds to World Hunger along with congregational monetary gifts.

We have a covenant relationship with Jim Keech serving in Nigeria and the Froshes in the Ukraine.
The vision and faithfulness of the people is keeping the United Methodist Church of Wellsboro a thriving place of ministry and mission
