Winter,
Spring, Summer or Fall, there's always an
event
for everyone to attend at Christ Church. We believe it's
important to get together regularly for fun and fellowship.
FALL:
Harvest Festival
This
is a great
time for all the "children" at Christ Church, no matter
what their ages! It includes a seasonal supper, followed by
fun activities such as a treasure hunt, bobbing for apples and Johnny
Appleseed-themed stores.
WINTER:
Holiday Cookie Sale
Each
Christmas season, people line up outside our front door early on
a Friday morning to get the first batch of our unbelievably delicious,
and beautifully decorated cookies.
WINTER:
Christmas Pageant
An
annual highlight of the Christmas season! The children provide
a memorable and heartfelt production of the Christmas story.
WINTER:
Roast Beef Dinner
A
30-year old tradition not to be missed! The entire congregation
enjoys a fabulous roast beef dinner after church on a Sunday afternoon
during the holiday season.
WINTER:
Cream Tea
There's
no better way to warm up during the winter months than at our church's
famous Cream Tea, held in February. A variety of tea cakes and sandwiches,
traditional scones, and of course, fabulous tea are featured in
a cozy setting.
SPRING:
Rummage Sale
Our
annual fundraiser, the rummage sale is held in May. With clothes,
sports equipment and household items, it attracts both new and loyal
clientele each year.
SPRING:
Sunday School Spring Picnic
This
is our church-wide, end-of-the-year fellowship activity. Great
food, fun and games are the focus of this event. Don't
miss Roy at the BBQ for the best burgers and hot dogs in Wellesley!
YEAR-ROUND:
Small Groups
In
addition to all-church events throughout the year, Christ Church
offers a variety of small groups that meet more frequently.
- Knit
Pickers
A recent project included knitting sweaters for teddy bears that
were given to homeless and foster care children.
- 50+
50+ is a group of very active members over the age of 50. They
meet once a month as a social get-together to help plan activities
for the church.
- Patchwork
Prayers
These talented quilters have been meeting once a week for almost
thirty years, to create beautiful quilts for the church and for
needy organizations.
- Young
Adults
Our "young" adults meet periodically for a social evening,
usually at someone's home. Recent get-togethers have been
appetizer parties, and a game night.
