HEAR OUR PRAYER, O LORD!

As part of the closing activity for our 2002 Leadership Training Day event, each group of officers were asked to write a prayer asking God to help us in fulfilling our PURPOSE in each of our various positions in the coming year. Listed below are the prayers that were composed by some of the groups:

Vice Presidents:

Dear Lord, grant us peace so we may be able to reach out, care and bring others together to plan with a vision to spread your Word.

Secretaries: 

Father God, we ask for your guidance to listen attentively with our ears and hearts, to record accurately with our hands, to always be prepared, to be knowledgeable of the needs of our units and the conference, and to be well organized and prompt at all times. Through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Treasurers:

Dear Lord, be with us at our meetings and our pledge services. Help us to understand our PURPOSE and to increase our giving in order to serve you and fulfill your MISSION.

Social Actions:

Dear Lord, give us wisdom to provide support to the fight against social global injustices within our church, community, and worldwide. Lord, we ask that you will help us become a part of riding the world of hate crimes and increasing social justice.

Program Resources:

We ask for God’s guidance and to renew our strength. Give us a spirit of understanding as we read our books.

Nominations:

Heavenly Father, continue to grant us knowledge, understanding and perseverance to keep open eyes, open minds, and hearts, as we search your women,who will commit themselves to our PURPOSE.

Spiritual Growth

With the help of your Holy Spirit, with open minds and open hearts, through love and understanding, by the teachings of your Word to this community of women, we will bring Good News to the poor, release to the captives, and let the oppressed experience freedom through open doors.
