Hello! Welcome to the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church home page. I am Larry L. Smith, the pastor of this beautiful, old country church. My church family calls me Pastor Larry.

While growing up in the Churubusco area during my childhood years, I attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with my family. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior in this church, and a few years ago, I returned here as the Associate Pastor. Today I am the pastor of this flock.

I am a native of the Churubusco area and graduated from high school in 1959. I owned and operated a dairy and hog farming operation for 12 years, as well as worked at International Harvester Company and owned a home-building company. I sold my farm and moved with my family to central Indiana in the early 1970s when I received the call to the ministry.

I attended Anderson School of Theology in Anderson, Indiana, and Taylor University in Upland, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion in 1975.

I served as pastor of the United Methodist Church in Keystone, Indiana, and another in Poneto,  Indiana, from 1972-1976. During this ministry, I successfully promoted a Campus Life group in southern Wells County.

I was pastor of the Victory Life Temple in Fort Wayne, Indiana, from 1976-1978. During this ministry, a Christian School program was developed in 1977 and a new building was erected in 1978.

I spent some time as a building subcontractor in Texas in the 1980s, and returned to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in a pastorate role in 1987.

Today, Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church continues to grow. We invite you to come and worship God with us. Come be a member of our church family.
