1. Spirit-filled
– awakened to God’s presence and living like Christ (Acts 2:1-4).
2. Spirit-led –
dependent on the guidance of the Holy Spirit to grow the body of Christ
(Acts 2:14-22).
3. Practicing Christian community (Acts
2:41-47) – engaged in growing the congregation deeper, wide, and further
in a life of faith that:
a. celebrates (Acts
2:42, 47) – engages the congregation and community in worship
that inspires and magnifies God’s presence;
b. connects
(Acts 2:42, 46) – builds lasting and significant relationships within
the congregation;
c. develops
– organizes study for the congregation and the community for sound
theological insight and deeper faith;
d. serves (Acts
2:44-45) – engages worshipers in justice and mercy ministries in
the community and around the world; and
e. shares (Acts
2:47) – trains and mobilizes the congregation for strategic witness and
evangelism by worshipers.
4. Bearing Acts 2 fruit:
a. Transformed lives
– receives new believers (Acts 2:47) through professions of faith (one
new profession of faith per 25 worshipers each year) and engages believers
in practicing faith;
b. Transformed congregation
– grows worship attendance (Acts 2:41) (at least 2 percent growth each
year or the percentage of the community growth plus 2 percent) and engages
congregation in the world;
c. Transformed believers
– 90 percent of the worshipers engaged in ministry and mission that is
transforming the community and world (Acts 2:44-45);
d. Transformation that is God
inspired and led – signs and
wonders occurring through the congregation’s ministry (Acts 2:43).
