The Waterford Charge Community

Stained glass window at Waterford Church: Jesus in the garden

Our mission:

To be faithful to the Great Commission of Jesus Christ:

Going out in the world, show all people how to be disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to do the things that Jesus has showed us.

Our hope:

The promise of Jesus of the constant, loving presence of God:

And keep this in your mind, I am and will be with all of you, for all time, yes, even until time comes to an end. (Matthew 28:19-20)

Making apple butter celebrates God's loving bounty and a time to get together. Our purpose:

To know Jesus and make him known, individually and as a community.

We share the love we have received. We share it and celebrate it with joy. We want everyone to be able to share with us, because we have received a wonderful gift.

We are able to love because of this: he first loved us.

(1 John 4.19).

Our guide:

The Holy Spirit leads us to tell about and share God's love for us. This is the love that was made known through Jesus Christ. We worship together as a community to share this love, and we share our lives. We rejoice in prize-winning events and share together in times of loss. We grow together as we grow individually.

Just as a body is one, but has many parts in it that are all parts of that one body, we, though there are many of us, are part of one body--this is how it is in Jesus. (2 Corinthians 12.12).
