Worship is the heart of Washington Street United Methodist Church. Worship services are held each Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in Christ Chapel and at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. Special music is provided by soloists at the early service and by the Sanctuary Choir at the 11:00 a.m. service.

The Sacrament of Communion is served the first Sunday of each month at the 9:00 a.m. worship service and the first Sunday of each quarter at the 11:00 a.m. service. Communion is also served on Christmas Eve at 5:00 p.m. and on Maundy Thursday.

A nursery is offered during both services. During the 11:00 a.m. service, children, age two through second grade, may leave the sanctuary for Children's Church after the Children's Moments.

On Wednesdays during Lent, a 30-minute worship service is held in Christ Chapel at 12:30 p.m. These services are based on Lenten themes and feature a variety of clergy and lay speakers. A light lunch of soup, sandwiches and dessert is available in the Threatt Hall before and after the service at minimal cost.

Christ Chapel is available to the congregation and the community from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weekdays for private worship and prayer.
