Christ the King Sunday

The theme of our
worship this Sunday is sacred places. When we think of sacred places
we usually think of a sanctuary, a favorite place of retreat, or
perhaps a cemetery. The most important turning point in our lives,
though, is when we decide to make a place for God. When we do that,
God makes a place for us, and all the other pieces of life’s puzzle
begin to come together in those sacred places that are within us. May
our worship touch that place in our hearts that we can reserve for
God, and take with us into the rest of our lives. |

Almighty and
everlasting God, it is your will to restore all things to Christ, whom
you have anointed priest for ever and ruler of creation. Grant that
all the people of the earth, now divided by the power of sin, may be
united under the glorious and gentle rule of Jesus Christ, who lives
and reigns for ever and ever. Amen. |

"All Good Gifts" |

We plow the
fields and scatter the good seed on the land, but it is fed and
watered by God’s almighty hand. He sends the snow in winter, the
warmth to swell the grain, the breezes and the sunshine and soft
refreshing rain.
(Refrain) All
good gifts around us are sent from heav’n above. Then thank the Lord,
O thank the Lord for all His love.
God only is
the Maker of all things near and far; He paints the wayside flower and
lights the evening star. The winds and waves obey Him, by God the
birds are fed. Much more to us His children, He gives our daily bread.
(Refrain)
We thank you
then, O Father for all things bright and good. We pledge to care for
your world, our life, our health, our food; Accept the gifts we offer
for all your love imparts. We bring to you our gratitude, our humble,
thankful hearts.

God, the Father.
Sing His praises

brought, Glory to the great creator for the wonders He has wrought. O
Give thanks unto the Lord and call upon His holy name.

Our gifts are
both great and small, O God, but we give all we dare. Bless this
offering that your glory and honor may be spread abroad. And, Lord,
give us courage to dare to give our all; for then we will be imitators
of the One who gave his all for us. Through that same Lord Jesus we
pray: Amen. |
