Make a joyful noise unto God .. Sing forth the honor of his name: Make his praise be glorious. Psalm 66 Music is an integral part of our worship experience at Washington Street United Methodist Church. The choirs serve as worship leaders throughout the church year, and soloists and small ensembles regularly enhance our worship. The Sanctuary Choir, directed by Arletta Raley, rehearses Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. This choir sings regularly at the 11:00 o'clock worship service and for special services during the year. Contact Arletta at 803-256-2417 if you are interested in singing in the Sanctuary Choir. Special arrangements are made for choir members who wish to attend a Sunday School class. The Killingsworth-Turner Memorial Handbell Choir, directed by Cheryl Thompson, rehearses Wednesdays from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the Leavitt Choir Room. Contact Cheryl at 803-699-9233 or thethompsons@sc.rr.com if you are interested in joining the handbell choir. Basic music knowledge is helpful but not necessary. The Washington Street Singers, directed by Joan Beamer, assisted by Whitney Vance and Bianca Raso, are an enthusiastic group of second through sixth graders. In addition to singing, they learn rhythm and how to read music. They rehearse each Sunday at 9:00 a.m. and participate in church services throughout the year. Contact Joan at jbeamer@earthlink.com. The Cherub Choir, directed by Jenna Barrett, assisted by Kelly Epting, Kathryn Ward and Stephanie Beinlich, is for children four years through the first grade.
