Music is an integral part of our worship experience at Washington Street. Our choirs serve as worship leaders throughout the church year. Soloists and small ensembles regularly enhance our experience of worship. There are four musical organizations in our church.

The Sanctuary Choir

The Sanctuary Choir - Directed by Arletta Raley and accompanied by Ralph Rozier, the choir rehearses on Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 PM and also on Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM. You may join the Sanctuary Choir at any time by contacting Arletta Raley at 776-5520. This choir sings regularly at the 11:00 AM worship service and for special services during the year. Special arrangements are made for choir members who wish to attend a Sunday School class.
The choir is organized with a President and Secretary.
The current officers are:

President........................................Luke Nance
Vice-President...............................Joan Beamer
Secretary.......................................Elizabeth Cameron
Special Assistant to the Director.....Charlotte Broome

For the choir members, their relationships with each other are a special part of being involved in this ministry. Opportunities to be together include a yearly retreat in the fall and social occasions in December and May. We would like to have all of the singers at Washington Street involved in this ministry. Come join the choir! Child care is available.

The Handbell Choir - The Handbell Choir practices on Wednesday afternoons from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Washington Street possesses one of the finest sets of English handbells available anywhere. They were a gift from Mrs. Grace Turner many years ago. Membership in this group is open. For more information, call Arletta Raley at 776-5520.

The Washington Street Singers Choir - This choir is open to children in grades two through six.

The Cherub Choir - This choir is for children ages four through the first grade of school.
