SYMPATHY

Our sympathy is extended to Janet Carlisle and family in the death of her brother, Jack Carlisle, who resided in Spartanburg, SC.

THANK YOU

“Thank you for your Thanksgiving Brown Bag contributions to the Washington Street Soup Cellar. With the onset of colder weather in October, we fired up the 40-gallon soup kettle to serve hot soup with the sandwiches until milder weather in the spring. The Brown Bag contributions are important at this time of the year, but contributions also are needed throughout the year to sustain this ministry meeting the physical and spiritual needs of hungry people.” --Alan-Jon Zupan, Chairperson, Soup Cellar Committee

Thank you to Janet Cotter and Sam Waldrep for their time and talents in making the Thanksgiving cornucopia arrangement in the narthex.

GREEN TIP

Set your thermostat at 68 or lower in the winter and 78 or higher in the summer. For every 8-hour period you lower your thermostat by a degree in the winter or raise it in the summer, you can save at least 1% on your utility bill.

CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS TREE

Pictures of Washington Street's children will be taken Sunday mornings during the Sunday school hour. The pictures will be used as ornaments on the Children's Christmas Tree. All children in nursery through sixth grade will be included in this special project.

OATMEAL CONTAINERS

The cylindrical oatmeal boxes are needed for a Christmas craft. If you cook oatmeal the old-fashioned way, please save your empty containers and bring them to the church office by this Sunday, November 22.
