Washington Hill UMC - 2010

Mary unlocks the church door.   Gladys lights all our candles.   Ginger passes out the bulletins.

Bertha arrives for the service.   Pastor Chung has his sermon in hand.   Louise is ready at her keyboard.

Our new minister’s name has been added to the sign out front.   Some of the congregation meet Pastor Chung for the first time.

Lay reader Mary has a short story for the children.   The sun on the wall helps Louise see her music.

While Gladys lights the oil lamps and candles, Bertha relaxes prior to the evening’s service.   Pastor Chuck arrives.

After just over 40 years of preaching, Pastor Chuck talks about his retirement with those present.
It’s June 13th and he has 2 weeks vacation due, so this will be his last sermon ever.

At seven minutes to six on Sunday evening, May 9th, the faithful gather for the 1st service of 2010.
At each Sunday service thru October, Communion is served at the alter using the method of intinction.

Pastor Chuck tells the congregation he will be retiring after the service this June.   There were flowers for Mother’s Day,
but due to the cold weather, the stove had been started much earlier.   God’s light thru the window helped the organist play the correct notes.
